Initially developed for NAPT and would always change the way people have their music. Although Napster had to shut down, turned up several imitators. Since then, change iTunes, MySpace, ringtones and Peer-2-peer networks and for all the music industry as we know it would. Record stores was less relevant to the point that they hardly exist today and digital download seems the only way to get music profitability. No more consumers would need to leave the comfort of their homes and could simply buy music online. As a result, the traditional music business model is a thing of the past, and crawl label executives today to set the pulse on the beat and make money in this digital music world.

Of MySpace and three of the major record companies unveiling MySpace Music online music streaming sites like Imeem, the music industry as we know it has completely revised models of their music. This is good news for the artists who now have more control over their music marketed in the manner and distributed, but it is bad news for record companies who now see dwindling profits and less control of artists and their music. With the old models of music recording companies were virtually the only way an artist could break into the industry to get the only way for an artist to major radio play, and the only way to national retailers. Well, what did the digital music model, control is directly put into the hands of artists. With online channels, can artists to lead the national sales without the financial burden on a typical retail. Artists can also instructed their advertising outlets with social media and video sites like YouTube and not exclusively on the record companies for marketing support.

With all these changes in the digital music industry, record companies are beginning to surface. While still a new concept and is still widely accepted, digital record companies put in a new era of music models. Digital recording companies offer their music only on digital channels, so they are able to get the music to their audience in a few minute averages. Take T-Pain’s digital record label as an example. His Nappy Boy digital label launched in 2008 that he offer his music in real time without red tape. RCRD LBL is another great example of the new music model and is an ad-supported music blog that free videos and music downloads.

Also, record companies still something that can run in the traditional sense adopted some important features of the new music model. It is practically a prerequisite for becoming an artist the music for online download and distribution. However, many artists and record companies truly understand the dynamics of the digital music promotion, search engine optimization and social media, and by this method in their marketing strategies to take these artists and labels will continue to start behind the delay in changing music business model.
